Fla. Dept. of Agriculture connecting farmers to consumers to stop food waste

The COVID-19 pandemic has shuttered restaurants and amusements parks across the state, which is leaving farmers overflowing with crops and no one to sell them to.

To help stop crops from rotting on the fields, the Florida Department of Agriculture has created the Florida Farm to You list, which allows businesses and consumers to find Florida producers who may have excess product.

Buyers can find seafood, poultry, vegetables, fruits and even alligator meat direct from producers.

Producers can also list their product for sale directly to the consumer.
