Glynn County swears in new police chief

Glynn Co., GA — Jacques S. Battiste is now officially the Chief of Police in Glynn County.

Battiste was sworn in Friday after completing all the requirements of the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council.

A news release said Chief Battiste is excited to return to full-time management of the department.

He said, “Thank you to the community for your support over these last few months. I am ready to lead from the front and guide the men and women of GCPD on our path forward. We will endeavor each day to assure that all citizens and our employees are treated equally with respect, honor, and integrity. We will set a new standard for excellence, which will ensure the Glynn County Police Department stays vigilant in serving and protecting our community.”
