Florida: Behind the scenes look at local fitness facilities and reopening requirements

FLORIDA — Florida gyms and fitness centers can now open at 50% capacity with some restrictions.

Governor Ron DeSantis made the announcement Friday.

In order for gyms to reopen, the following rules must be followed:

  1. No more than 50% capacity at all times.
  2. Sanitizing equipment readily available to members.
  3. Instruct gym goers to sanitize after each use.
  4. Throughout the day, staff should be sanitizing all high touch equipment, bathrooms and counters
  5. Thoroughly clean and disinfect all high touch surfaces before closing the building.
  6. Send home any employees who may appear to be sick when they arrive to work.

Face masks are not required for employees or customers.
