A Jacksonville man picked up a pole during a fight and struck another man with it, severely cutting the man's head, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said in a report.
Tony Salley, 34, was charged with aggravated battery after he confronted another man over an alleged $7 debt. The two fought, and Salley picked up a pole and swung it like a bat, striking the victim in the face and knocking him out, JSO said.
The victim was hit two or three times, and Salley then rode away on a bike, the report said.
Salley was arrested and charged with aggravated battery that caused great bodily harm, a felony.
