18-year-old charged in fatal shooting at Jacksonville Beach

Jacksonville Beach police say an 18-year-old is facing murder charges after a fatal shooting in July.

Javoris Deandre Price is charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder and armed robbery after police say he shot Glen McNeil outside the beach bars July 5.

McNeil, 23, was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the torso. He died from his injuries.

Police said Price was identified as a suspect days after the shooting via witness interviews.

He was booked at the jail on Aug. 21 after police searched his Facebook account.

Photos and messages revealed Price was in possession of firearms, according to an arrest report.

Price was previously adjudicated as a juvenile delinquent and was not allowed to possess a firearm before his 24th birthday.

An arrest warrant for McNeil's death was served to Price at the jail on Nov. 6.

McNeil's mom, Robin Davis, called for his shooter to come forward after his death.

"I'm not motivated by hatred or revenge, but there's consequences to your actions," she told Action News Jax in July.

She said she last saw her son as he was leaving the house on July 4.

“He said, 'I’ll see you later Mom. I’m going to the beach,'" Davis said. "And that was the last conversation we had."

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. when many people were out celebrating Independence Day.

A video taken shortly before McNeil was shot showed McNeil in a scuffle with someone outside the bars.

Police said after the shooting that there were several witnesses.
