PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — An 87-year-old man is in critical condition after crashing into a utility pole near Reid Street and 2nd Street in Putnam County, says the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
According to FHP’s report, the man was traveling northbound on Reid Street in a Lincoln Town Car. The car ran off the roadway to the right and struck a curb.
After the Lincoln hit the curb, it made impact with a utility pole and overturned at the intersection of Reid Street and 2nd Street.
The man was ejected from the Lincoln and transported from the scene with critical injuries.
FHP’s report states that the man is from East Palatka and was not wearing a seatbelt.
