Attempted rape suspect charged after months-long investigation

Jacksonville Beach, Fla — On Friday police announced a suspect has been charged in connection to an burglary and attempted sexual battery in Jacksonville Beach last year.

Investigators say on Sept. 9. Ronald Charles Green, III, broke into a woman’s home and attempted to sexually assault her while she was asleep.

According to a report, the victim fought back, screaming for help, causing Green to run from the home.

Detectives with the Jacksonville Beach Police Department say they spent the next several months investigating, submitting evidence to FDLE.

Green is currently being held in the Duval County Jail on $705,009 bond.
