Attorneys in South Florida plane crash to return home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two attorneys from Jacksonville survived a plane crash Monday in south Florida.

The attorneys are expected to return home Tuesday morning.

Attorneys Robert Spohrer and Steve Browning  survived the plane crash in Broward County with only bumps and bruises.

The two and a pilot took off Monday from Herlong Recreational Airport in the Spohrer and Dodd Law Firms' Piper PA-32, but around 12:45 p.m. it crashed 16 miles west of Ft. Lauderdale.

"I'm fine completely, uninjured," said Browning. "Doing great."

Karen Browning, Steven's wife of 25 years, said, "We have three kids and the thought of not having him is an awful, awful feeling."

Spohrer is the head of the firm and has been practicing law for more than 40 years.

"We're very fortunate, just concerned about our pilot right now," said Spohrer.

The pilot has not been named.

There is no word from the NTSB on what caused the crash.
