Jacksonville, Fl — This Labor Day is looking seasonally hot with temperatures climbing to 90 degrees and high humidity. Action News Jax Meteorologist Corey Simma is tracking a few inland isolated showers or storms between 1 and 3 pm today. Locally heavy downpours and lightning are the primary threats.
We have a moderate rip current risk at area beaches today. Remember, if you get caught in a rip current, don’t panic and let it pull you out. Once it releases you, swim parallel to shore and then back to the beach.

A few isolated showers or storms will develop each afternoon through Wednesday. Showers and storms increase in coverage by Thursday and into the upcoming weekend.
TROPICS: Tropical Storm Earl is north of Puerto Rico, moving north and curving out to the open ocean. Hurricane Danielle is way out there in the North Atlantic and is moving toward Europe. There’s a tropical wave in the Eastern Atlantic that we’ll watch for the next several days. NO imminent threat to the U.S. despite an increase in activity.
