Roosevelt Blvd. reopened after JSO SWAT closure for burglary in progress

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE, 7AM: Roosevelt Boulevard has reopened after being closed Friday morning during a SWAT call. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the call was in response to a burglary in progress.

6AM: Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office shared the updated road closures:

  • Roosevelt northbound at Plymouth is closed
  • Roosevelt southbound at Old Roosevelt is closed
  • Edgewood ramp to southbound Roosevelt is closed
  • Rensselaer east/southeast from Roosevelt is closed

5AM: An active SWAT situation has closed a Jacksonville roadway Friday morning. Roosevelt Boulevard from Plymouth Street to Edgewood Avenue is closed due to police activity, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Action News Jax’s Madison Foglio is on the scene and could hear SWAT calling for a suspect over a loud speaker stating that they have a warrant for their arrest.
