JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE, 8/21/19: Action News Jax has learned that a child abuse charge against former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Roy Miller has been dropped.

A former Jacksonville Jaguars player was arrested Wednesday on a charge of child abuse.
Roy Miller, 31, was booked into the Duval County Jail early Wednesday morning on a charge of "child abuse - personal/special weapon," according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Inmate Information Search online records.

In November 2017, Miller was arrested on a battery charge. He was accused of hitting his wife.
Miller was a defensive tackle for the Jaguars from 2013 to 2016. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the the Kansas City Chiefs. He retired from the NFL in 2018.
