Clay County deputies arrest driver wanted in connection to U.S. 17 shooting

Update 4:35 p.m. 

The Clay County Sheriff's Office said they have identified the shooter in today's roadway incident as Timothy Lee Carrow, 31.

Deputies have arrested Carrow, and he faces a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon along with additional felony charges, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office said the victim was released from the hospital.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office have a suspect in custody after a roadway incident where a person was shot Wednesday morning.

The roadway incident happened on Highway 17 near Village Square Parkway in Fleming Island.

Deputies initially were seeking a white man possibly driving a white F-250 Ford truck with a damaged red topper.

Authorities said that male fled the area of an earlier roadway incident, traveling north on Highway 17.

CCSO said one person involved in the roadway incident received non-life-threatening injuries from being shot by the male driver who fled the scene.

Deputies have reopened Highway 17 northbound from Hibernia Road to Water Oak Lane after it was closed for investigators to gather evidence.
