CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Clay County deputies responded Wednesday night to a mobile meth lab in the parking lot of the Walmart on Fleming Island.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office said deputies were originally called to the store around 6 p.m. to a reported shoplifting. A meth lab, which was contained in a bottle in the suspect's car, a red Pontiac Sunfire, was neutralized by narcotics detectives, CCSO said.
When Action News Jax's Danielle Avitable got on scene just after 7:30 p.m., she found a man in handcuffs being hosed off by Clay County emergency crews. Then, the crime scene was expanded, as deputies asked people parked near the Pontiac were asked to move their vehicles.
The male shoplifting suspect was linked to a man and two women and all four are being questioned by deputies about the shoplifting and meth lab. Charges are pending.
