FHP: Lake City woman attempting to cross US-90 hit, killed by van

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A woman attempting to cross a road in Columbia County is dead after troopers said she was hit by a van.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the deadly collision happened just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday on US 90, east of Northwest Desi Court.

Troopers said the van was traveling westbound on US 90, when FHP said it collided with the 61-year-old Lake City woman as she tried to cross US 90.

FHP said she died at the scene.

The driver of the van - a 45-year-old Lake City man - was not hurt in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
