Cooler, dry and sunny today; local nor’easter to make for ugly weekend

Weekend nor'easter to bring gusty winds, dangerous surf

Jacksonville, Fl — Cooler, drier air has returned after storms and several days of hot temps. Action News Jax Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh says we’ll have a lot of sun today.

“Just in the low 70s in Jacksonville, upper 60s at the coast. Winds will be out of the west around 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon”, said Bedenbaugh.

Winds will shift to off the Atlantic, making for a raw, somewhat ugly weekend.

“Breezy winds out of the north-northeast at 20+ mph, thus we’ll be very cool with a few showers, especially closer to the coast. It won’t be a nice weekend at the beaches, especially”, said Bedenbaugh.

The new work week will start cloudy and breezy with a few showers and temperatures only in the upper 60s.

By Tuesday the sunshine returns and temperatures climb into the mid 70s.
