Coronavirus pandemic: Jacksonville quilt store delivers 200 masks to Brooks Rehabilitation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — QUICK FACTS:

  • Cinnamon’s Quilt Shoppe in Jacksonville is delivering 200 masks to Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • The mother of one of the hospital’s physicians, Janet Wells, works at the quilt store. She researched Centers for Disease Control guidelines and a made a prototype.
  • Wells asked for customers from the quilt store to help. She made kits for them to take home to make masks. Volunteers have been sharing that either they have a relative that works at Brooks or they were once a patient and want to help out.
