At La Nopalera Mexican Restaurant on Philips Highway in Jacksonville, a health inspector noticed four floor drains backed up with sewage water.
The inspector also noted that both the queso cheese and the chilies on the cook line were being held too warm. It was temporarily shut down because of the drainage issues, but met its requirements during a follow up inspection.
At Dalton's Sports Grill on Blanding Boulevard in Middleburg a health inspector noted 100 live flies in the kitchen, bar, and dry stock room.
The inspector asked the establishment to toss 21 items including alligator, butter, and mac and cheese because of temperature issues, and a stop sale was issued on cheese with a mold-like growth. Dalton's Sports Grill needed three follow up inspections before it met inspection requirements.
And at Brick Oven Pizzeria and Gastropub on Town Center Boulevard in Fleming Island, a health inspector saw chemicals stored next to to-go containers, tossed out chicken wings because of temperature violations, and the dish machine sanitizer was too weak to clean. A follow up inspection is required.
