Duval County Public Schools’ chief of schools up for superintendent job in 3 Florida counties

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Duval County Public Schools leader is up for the superintendent position for school districts in several Florida counties.

Scott Schneider, the current DCPS Chief of Schools, is a semi-finalist for the job in Manatee County, Charlotte County and Brevard County, the districts’ superintendent search web pages show.

Clay County Schools’ former superintendent Charlie Van Zant is also a semi-finalist for the superintendent job in Manatee County.

Current Duval County Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene was the superintendent for the School District of Manatee County from 2015 to 2018.

For all three school districts’ superintendent searches, each candidate is scheduled to be selected in May.
