JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Catty Shack Ranch and Wildlife Sanctuary is hosting virtual night feedings and fundraisers Friday and Saturday nights, March 20 and 21.
The Ranch, which cares for big cats and exotic wildlife rescued from illegal zoos and owners who couldn’t handle the animals, does not get any government funding or grants and has no major corporate sponsors. That means the restrictions that have forced Catty Shack to close are making it tough to pay for the 600 pounds of meat consumed be the animals every single day.
The virtual feedings can be seen on Facebook Live on the Ranch’s profile page.
To raise money for the sanctuary, Catty Shack is asking families to donate or purchase items off their Amazon wish list.

People can also symbolically adopt a Catty Shack resident, which means they can sponsor an animal by contributing to its food, medical care and shelter costs.
Catty Shack is only opened for self-guided tours from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The Ranch asks guests to visit only if everyone in their party feels well. Guests are also asked not to touch the fences, maintain social distancing and wash their hands frequently.
