Confederate flag flies again over downtown Jacksonville to protest removal of monuments

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A plane once again flew the Confederate flag around downtown Jacksonville on Tuesday morning.

Action News Jax told you when a similar thing happened Nov. 27 before the Jaguars-Ravens game at TIAA Bank Field.

In addition to the flag, Tuesday’s flight had a banner message for Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry:

“Curry, stop your hate!” The banner also displayed a website that opposes removing Confederate monuments.

Action News Jax’s Logan MacDonald is working to speak with JaxChamber and tourism groups to see if displays like this are impacting growth in Jacksonville. We’ll have that part of the story at 5 p.m. on CBS47 and FOX30 Action News Jax.
