Police investigating a fatal shooting at inn on Harts Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was shot and killed Thursday night at the Gold Rush Inn on Harts Road.

JSO said around 9:20 p.m., officers and first responders were called out to the area on Jacksonville’s Northside because of a shooting.

When they arrived, JSO said they found a man who had been shot. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took him to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.

JSO has two witnesses detained who are speaking with detectives. “The suspect is described as an adult black male last seen on foot from the scene,” JSO said.
