Passengers have returned the favor, by packing a little extra patience while the airport continues to change to prepare for more growth throughout the next 10 to 20 years.

Below are renderings Action News Jax recently obtained which show what the brand new Concourse B will look like. It’s expected to break ground in August of this year.

It will be made up of six new gates and to help with the flow of travelers, there will be two additional TSA security lanes (bringing the total lanes from eight to 10), with new screening technology to process passengers quicker.

A spokesperson for JIA confirmed construction is expected to be complete by 2025.

“Impressive,” McLaughlin said. “Very impressive.”

It’s all part of a $300 million dollar project, which flyers say in the long run will keep people coming back.
