Jacksonville, Fla. — More financial help is on the way to small local businesses.
Through the Federal Cares Act, the city council approved 2 million dollars for small businesses and 1 million for seniors and those who are disabled.
The city’s relief program offers 2 thousand dollar grants to eligible small businesses – which must be located in Duval county and have no more than 100 employees.
They are also required to have been in business for more than a year.
The senior and disability relief program offers $300.
To qualify, people must be older than 72 years old or have a disability.
Their income last year must be less than 30 thousand dollars.
