Walmart stores in Jacksonville area are offering COVID-19 vaccinations

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE 2/24/2021: Walmart will begin administering Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines in Jacksonville with a drive thru clinic at the Walmart located at 12100 Lem Turner starting Feb. 25th.

Eligible patients can schedule a vaccine appointment via www.walmart.com/COVIDvaccine, making it convenient to get vaccinated while vaccine supplies last.

At this time, vaccines will be available to those who meet the following criteria: Persons 65 years of age and older, health care personnel with direct patient contact and residents and staff of long-term care facilities.

Insurance is not required, there is no cost to receive the vaccine, and appointments for the second vaccination will be made while at the first appointment.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday during a news conference in Jacksonville that the state is expanding its COVID-19 vaccine availability to include Walmart stores, including locations in Duval County.

DeSantis said the novel coronavirus vaccine will be available to seniors on Friday, Feb. 12 in the following Northeast Florida counties:

• 18 stores in Duval County
• 1 store in Baker County
• 1 store in Bradford County
• 1 store in Columbia County
• 1 store in Clay County

A total of 119 Walmart stores across 34 counties in the state of Florida will begin distributing the vaccine.
