Jacksonville Beach surfer wins World Surf League Longboard Tour championship

TAITUNG, TAIWAN — Jacksonville Beach surfer Justing Quintal clenched the World Surf League Longboard Tour championship Friday in Taiwan.

Quintal won two of the three contests preceding the Taiwan Open World Longboard Championships, which took place during the first week of December. Though he came in third place in the contest, his result elevated him to the year’s Longboard Tour champion.

He won first place in the Noosa Longboard Open in Australia and the Galicia Longboard Classic in Spain.

When he’s not traveling the globe chasing swells and winning contests, Quintal runs a surfboard company called Black Rose Manufacturing.
