JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The driver of a 2007 Honda Pilot was traveling northbound on I-295 when he lost control of the car, colliding with the concrete traffic barrier on the Pickettville Road overpass Friday at 8:30 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol says.

The car traveled into the center median and overturned. The driver was the only occupant of the car and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash, FHP says.
The driver has been identified as Matthew Eugene Smith, 27, of Jacksonville, according to the report.
