JSO: 26-year-old Jacksonville man killed in hit-and-run crash in Arlington

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are working to find the driver they said fatally struck a man in Arlington early Monday and did not stop.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said at 2:40 a.m., it received a call from a neighbor who found a body in the road on Lone Star Boulevard, near Lone Star Elementary.

According to JSO, the neighbor heard a loud noise and went to investigate and found the 26-year-old Jacksonville man’s body.

Detectives are investigating. At this time, JSO does not have a description of the vehicle or driver involved.

JSO said this is the 199th traffic death this year in Jacksonville and the city’s 49th deadly crash involving a pedestrian in 2021.
