Man pulled from ocean on Jacksonville Beach is not confirmed swimmer missing since Sunday night

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — A man who was unresponsive was pulled from the water Monday morning on Jacksonville Beach.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department confirmed that this man was not 19-year-old Curtis A. Newkirk Jr., who was last seen in the ocean and has been missing since Sunday night.

They tell us the search for Newkirk is now a recovery mission.

The man who was rescued around 11 a.m. Monday was taken to the hospital. Police said at last check, the man was stable.
