Police arrest man in the shooting death of woman found in burning apartment building

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville police have identified and arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a woman killed in May of 2020.

The woman was initially found deceased inside of a burning apartment complex on the 1000 block of West 6th Street.

It was discovered that she was shot and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Police interviewed William Henry Cone who was in jail on unrelated charges. As a result, Cone was arrested for murder and arson in the death of the victim.
