The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a person, who appears to be young, died after being shot Sunday night.
Officers were called out to the 7500 block of Powers Avenue at 10:30 p.m. about a shooting. When they arrived, they found someone who had been shot once. JSO said he was taken to a hospital where he died.
The Sheriff’s Office said the young person was shot after an altercation and said it does not know, at this time, if the victim and the suspect knew each other.
Police have detained several young witnesses who are speaking with detectives.
