GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A University of Florida student from Jacksonville was killed Wednesday after being hit by a car in Gainesville.
On Dec. 9, the Gainesville Police Department responded to a crash on 2000 West University Ave.
Officers discovered that a pedestrian victim had been hit by a vehicle while crossing the street. The victim was later pronounced deceased.
The victim was Maggie Paxton, a University of Florida student who was from Jacksonville, Florida.
The suspect was last seen traveling northbound on Northwest 20th Drive, possibly driving a BMW sedan.
