See the photos: USS Philippine Sea returns home to Mayport after 10-month deployment

MAYPORT, Fla. — Sailors on the USS Philippine Sea are returning to Naval Station Mayport on Wednesday morning after a nearly 10-month deployment.

This will be the first deployment since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic that they will bring back the “first kiss” with loved ones on the pier.

Eleven new parents will meet their kids for the first time today.
