JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A young man was shot and killed outside the Silver Fox strip club on the Westside a few days ago, and his mother is now demanding answers. She said her son was shot down like an animal.
Witnesses told the victim’s family that he was running away when he was shot and killed in the strip club parking lot.
“If you would have told me that when I laid my head down Friday night that I would have been waking up Saturday morning that my son was dead and gone, I wouldn’t have believed it,” said Beverly Joseph, his mother.
Joseph still can’t believe her 22-year old son Donnell Joseph is gone.
“It’s been hard for me to sleep. I just want justice for whoever done this,” Joseph said.
His family is left with a lot of questions and very few answers, even though a full parking lot of people witnessed the shooting outside the Silver Fox club last Saturday.
“It’s very frustrating, when you don’t know when or you don’t know how or why or for what reason,” Joseph said.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is also looking for the reason for Donnell’s death mainly because witnesses that were outside the club that night are not talking.
The unwillingness to talk to police is causing more anger and frustration for Kenneth Joseph, Donnell’s father.
But he believes Jacksonville police will find out who shot his son and when that happens, he has only one question for his son’s killer:
“I just want to ask this individual one question, ‘Why?’ Because it was done in a very cowardly fashion and I think they are less of a man,” Joseph said.
