JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is in critical condition after his motorcycle was hit by a car on I-95 near University Blvd early Saturday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that at approximately 12:10 a.m., a 50-year-old motorcyclist was parked on the right shoulder of I-95 helping a stranded motorist. As the rider got back on his motorcycle and began to gain speed, he was struck in the rear by a grey sedan.
The rider was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The 41-year-old driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries as well, but he was not transported.
