JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Former Jaguars defensive tackle John Henderson was arrested Saturday in Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrested and charged Henderson with domestic battery. He was booked into a Duval County jail at 4:21 p.m.

A representative from the Duval County Jail said Henderson was taken to UF Health under the Baker Act after medical staff decided against admitting Henderson into the jail.

Henderson was selected by the Jaguars in the first round of the 2002 NFL draft. He played 10 seasons in the National Football League and was selected to play in two pro bowls.

Henderson was known for an unusual pregame ritual of having a trainer slap him in the face.
