Netflix series filming in Glynn County this week

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — A new Netflix series that is expected to hit the streaming service later this year is filming in Glynn County this Tuesday and Wednesday, July 20-July 21.

The new thriller, “Pieces of Her,” based on the 2018 bestselling book, follows a 31-year-old woman, Andrea Cooper, who thinks she knows everything about her mother. Then one day at the mall, something unthinkable happens to them both. Cooper discovers her mother has been hiding something for nearly 30 years. The series follows Cooper’s journey to find out her mother’s secret before something bad happens to them both.

The series will star Academy Award-nominated actress Toni Collette, Australian actress Bella Heathcote, David Wenham, Jessica Barden, Joe Dempsie, Jacob Scipio, and Omari Hardwick.

Filming for “Pieces of Her” will take place in Glynn County on Mallery Street from July 20-July 21.

Residents in the area should expect traffic as filming takes place.

The Glynn County Board of Commissioners says vehicular traffic will be blocked on Mallery Street from Kings Way and Park Avenue from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. on July 20. Traffic will also be blocked from Mallery Street and Kings Way from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m. on July 21.
