Gourmet Hut in St. Augustine temporarily closed in Restaurant Report

Three restaurants in three different counties received violations from health inspectors.

Health inspectors cited the Gourmet Hut in St. Augustine. The inspectors found rodent droppings, live roaches and eggs intact stored with cracked eggs. Inspectors temporarily shut down the restaurant and the next day, inspectors still found issues, but they reopened after a third inspection.

Inspectors noted citations at Pho 99 Vietnamese Grill on Blanding Boulevard. The health inspector saw an employee touching ready-to-eat food with their bare hands and it was corrected on site. The inspector also saw an in-use utensil stored in unclean water and noted temperature violations of cold food held too warm and hot food held too cold.

Ms. Carolyn’s Breakfast & Desserts in Fernandina Beach was cited by health inspectors for food reserved to customers, an employee putting on new gloves without washing hands on the cook’s line and cold food held too warm.
