JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Boeing site at Cecil Airport is about to get an upgrade.

On Thur., Mar. 9., Boeing and the Jacksonville Aviation Authority will be breaking ground on the almost 150,000-square-foot Boeing component operations facility at Cecil Airport.
Boeing teams at the new site will inspect, evaluate, and repair composite and structural parts for military aircraft.
The Boeing facility at Cecil Airport officially opened in August, 1999. According to Boeing, “It has been providing military customers fast and affordable modifications and upgrades for a range of aircraft, including the F/A-18 A-D Hornet, F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler, P-8 and KC-46.”
Boeing Cecil Field is home to a flight control repair center that provides structural repairs to F/A-18-G flight control surfaces.

The site also currently manages the warehousing and distribution of components and delivers more than 175 ready-for-issue avionics parts to customers every year.
