Hundreds of students, staff and visitors attended a solar eclipse watch party Monday at the University of North Florida.
It was held at the Coxwell Amphitheater, next to the Student Union at the university campus.
As everyone's eyes looked up to the sky, they welcomed the solar eclipse with cheers and applause.

“It's like an orange crescent! Whoa!” UNF student Rachel Reinheimer said. “Just like an orange sliver and it's slowly fading away, but it was definitely something amazing to see.”
UNF physics professor Dr. John Anderson wasn't missing this for the world, but with all the rain and cloud coverage Monday afternoon, he had his doubts we'd get to see the expected 92 percent totality.
“But just at the right moment right, when it was the maximum coverage here, the skies parted just a wee bit, and you could see it with your glasses,” Anderson said. “It was pretty impressive.”
