Hurricane Isaias: Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp issues state of emergency

ATLANTA — Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency on Thursday ahead of Hurricane Isaias.

The storm is expected to make landfall along the Gulf coast on Friday night.

Action News Jax First Alert Weather Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh said in Talking the Tropics with Mike that tropics threats/impacts for Jacksonville/Northeast Florida/Southeast Georgia are few.

There will be some peripheral/outer bands moving rather quickly northward - from Isaias - Friday through the weekend that will be capable of very heavy rain, gusty winds & isolated tornadoes, especially Friday through Saturday.

We told you when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a state of emergency for Isaias on Wednesday night. Two Northeast Florida counties, Baker and Columbia, were among the 25 counties included in that declaration.
