‘I’m in between a rock and a hard place:’ Georgia family loses everything in storm during a tornado

BRISTOL, Ga. — A family’s home was destroyed after strong winds from an EF-1 tornado ripped through Pierce County.

“I’m in between a rock and a hard place,” Guadalupe Williams said. “Now, my family doesn’t have a place to be at. My kids don’t have a place to lay their head.”

28-year-old Guadalupe Williams is a father of three. He said he found out Wednesday afternoon about the damage.

“It was about 1:20 when I got the phone call,” Williams said. “He had told me that my roof had gone off my house.”

Williams said he immediately left work and came home to destruction. His roof collapsed and his family’s belongings were not salvageable.

“My family is ok. My kids got out of there,” Williams said. “It broke me because now we’re back at square one. Now we gotta build from the ground up.”

The tornado was reported as an EF-1, which classified wind speeds between 86 and 110mph.
