JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Action News Jax visited Pier Cantina and Lounge in Jacksonville Beach after receiving violations from a health inspector.
A health inspector saw live flies in the kitchen and bar area and live ants. A stop sale was issued on tomatoes and shrimp due to temperature issues. At the follow-up inspection, the inspector spotted a few more ants.
At Al’s Pizza in Atlantic Beach, a health inspector issued a stop sale on multiple items including ham, steak, onions and tomatoes for having temperature issues. It was discovered that ziti and chicken in the fridge were both expired, and the dish machine chlorine was too weak to properly clean. A follow-up inspection is required.
Sushiya in Orange Park was on the restaurant report in mid-December 2015. It was back on the list after an inspector saw an employee touching ready-to-eat food with their bare hands, measured mushrooms held too warm and noted that the dish machine chlorine was too weak to clean. A follow up inspection is required.
