JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A young boy found alone early Sunday morning was safely reunited with his family, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
Officers found the child around 1 a.m. near the intersection of Old Kings Road South and Baymeadows Road.
He appeared to be 5 to 7 years old and was carrying a blanket decorated with an outer space design, JSO said.
The sheriff’s office launched a search for anyone who might know the boy’s identity as they worked to locate his parents or guardians.
By 4:55 a.m., the sheriff’s office announced the child had been identified and reunited with his family.
“Great news! We have identified this child and reunited him with family. Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word!” JSO said.
