Jacksonville Circle K robbed twice in one week, neighbors say

A source tells Action News Jax someone in a surgical mask robbed a Circle K gas station in Jacksonville Tuesday.

Neighbors say it’s the second time in the past few days police were called to the gas station on McDuff and Roosevelt Boulevard.

Action News Jax cameras were rolling as a K-9 unit searched neighbors' yards and around their homes.

A police helicopter circled overhead. “I was wondering what was going on, figured they got robbed or something again,” Alan Duarte said.

JSO’s crime mapping tool reveals a strong armed robbery was reported on Sunday in the same area of McDuff.

The Circle K on Edgewood a mile away was robbed on Dec. 19. “I’m sure it’s a hardship for them to have to face that and go back to work and think, ‘Man today might be the day. I might get robbed again – or worse,’” Duarte said.

Action News Jax Crime & Safety Expert Ken Jefferson says if you're inside a store during a robbery, don't make any sudden movements and leave the building if you’re close to the door.

He said it's best to get close to the ground, and if you get a good look at the suspect be sure to tell police.

That information could help them catch the suspect.
