Bass, who came to Lloyd’s camp Wednesday, said this is the first time he is being introduced to football when asked if he’d played before.

“Not yet, but that is why I came to the camp — to start,” said Bass.

This football camp is hosting around 150 military kids in the first through eighth grades. And these kids have something in common with Lloyd, whose parents were also in the military.

“It was huge in my household growing up. I didn’t even realize, but my dad and mom really groomed me to be a good leader and just a good person off the field,” said Lloyd.

Lloyd says he hopes these kids learn valuable lessons through this camp experience.

“Just for me, I just love inspiring people. Especially little kids and the next generation. I feel like that is huge, because they are obviously next up. More than anything, I just wanted to get out here with them and let them have a good time,” said Lloyd.

Although it rained for portions of the camp Wednesday, that didn’t stop many of these kids from the sheer enjoyment of playing football.

“I want to run through dummies,” said camper LJ Arnold.

Another camper agreed with Arnold that he just wants to have fun.

“It’s fun being in football,” said camper Ezrian Telly.
