Jacksonville man beaten, robbed during an armed home invasion

It’s one thing to have someone pointing a gun at you, but it’s worse when you can’t understand them.

Gerardo Pacheco, who only speaks Spanish, said three men walked into his Serotina Lakes apartment around 8 a.m. on Monday. Police said one of the men had a gun.

Police said the suspects then kicked open Pacheco’s bedroom door.

Pacheco said the men hit him several times with this crutch.

Pacheco said he was confused, he didn’t know what was going on, and he was scared for his life.

Investigators said the men then had Pacheco’s friend, who was in the other room, go into his bedroom – that’s where they tied their hands behind their backs and duck taped their feet together.

According to the police report, Pacheco and his friend told police that every time they would look up, the three men would punch them in the face or hit them in their sides.

Police said after a while, Pacheco said a woman who spoke some Spanish came into the apartment and joined the suspects.

Pacheco said he isn’t sure why someone would do this, but he said he may have recognized one of them. Investigators said they got away with cash, jewelry, and a television.
