Jacksonville police announce 'Operation Rap Up', 6 arrested and 3 wanted

Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams announced "Operation Rap Up" Tuesday afternoon with Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry and State Attorney Melissa Nelson.

According to the sherrif, violent gang rap videos have been spreading over social media glorifying drugs and violence (like drive-by shootings) and some of the 6 suspects could be connected to shootings in Jacksonville.

JSO is still searching for three suspects.

JSO tweeted Tuesday afternoon in regards to the announcement, "Convicted felon and you want to hold guns in music videos or on social media = ARREST."

The Sheriff wouldn't say if any of the suspects are connected to any unsolved murders in the Jacksonville area.

The six suspects that have been arrested are being held on weapons or ammunition possession by convicted felons.

Two of the suspects are juveniles are under 18.

The sheriff said JSO is still searching for Breion Dubois, 28, Dejuan Hayden, 24, and Keith Rivers, 22.

One of the rappers mentioned in the documents provided by JSO was Yungeen Ace, the lone survivor of the drive-by shooting near the Town Center in June, but the sheriff would not say if that could be one of the cases connected.
