JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A stolen red car was found in a retention pond near Kincaid and Fury drives on the Westside near McGirts Creek Park.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department dispatch said they got the call at 8:25 p.m. for a traffic accident. Crews on the scene tell Action News a fisherman saw headlights in the middle of the pond and called the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO's Dive Team pulled the car out and crews on scene say they are 95 percent sure no one was in the car, as they checked the trunk as well.
Removing the car from the pond and hooking it up to a wrecker will take a few more hours, crews tell us.
There was a lot of grass and weeds in the pond, which made it a little more difficult for divers to get through.
