On Thursday the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to a person whose leg was trapped by a concrete slab on East Bay Street.
Rescue crews were able to get the person's leg out from under the concrete slab.
The person was transported to a local hospital.
An Action News Jax's crew on scene learned the incident happened behind the hold courthouse.
This is where work is being done near Liberty Street and Coastline Drive.
Our crew on scene said they saw the patient on the stretcher to the ambulance.
The patient was awake and talking.
Crews are responding to the 300 block of E Bay Street to a person whose legged is trapped by a concrete slab.

Crews advise that the leg is now free...they will package the patient for transport to the hospital.
