2 dogs rescued in Ortega Forest house fire

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to a house fire in Ortega Forest Friday night.

JFRD said the fire started in the garage of the house in the 4000 block of Prince Edward Road.

Firefighters said heavy fire was coming from all windows of the house when they arrived.

Two dogs were in the home when the fire started. Firefighters were able to get them out of the house and were seen giving the dogs oxygen.

Neighbors at the scene said the family was out to dinner at the time the fire started.
